Motel rooms: People have been booking up lodgings in the Dubois area for many months, and most of our motels are already full. If you’d like to try anyway, our lodgings directory is on the Destination Dubois website.
For detailed information about camping in the Shoshone National Forest during eclipse week, see the official Wind River Ranger District Eclipse Brochure.
Authorized dry camping on the town recreational grounds is available on a first-come-first-served basis for a flat fee of $200 for 3 nights, which includes arrival on or after Saturday August 19th and departure on Tuesday August 22nd by 3:00pm. About 20 additional dry camping sites are still available as of August 15 at the Timberline Ranch about 15 miles west of Dubois. For further information call 307-455-2513.
Please bear in mind that:
- The eclipse will take place during peak fire season. Wherever you are, be alert for fire risk, and especially if you camp, follow basic rules for campfire safety.
- Access to campsites on public land will be controlled and may be restricted during the time around the eclipse.
- Property owners in Wyoming take trespassing very seriously. Do not try to park or camp on what might be private property.
